Forbes.com recently rolled out its Forbes Fab 40, where it ranked the 10 most valuable sports brands in the world across four different categories: businesses, athletes, teams, and events.
The results probably won’t surprise you, though.
Nike ranked No. 1 overall in Forbes’ list of the world’s most valuable sports brands; the sports apparel company was worth a whopping $15.9 billion. ESPN — or better known as The Worldwide Leader in Sports — trailed at second with a value of $11.5 billion. Adidas, Sky Sports and Under Armour rounded out the top 5.

Quick Facts Regarding The World’s Most Valuable Sports Brands
- The New York Yankees were the most valuable team brand at $363 million.
- Valued at $470 million, the Super Bowl came in at No. 1 for the most valuable event brand while the Summer Olympic Games was No. 2 ($348 million).
- Five of the 10 most valuable sports brands in the teams category were soccer clubs (Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Arsenal).
- Two of the three most valuable brands in the athletes section were men’s golfers (Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson).
