STX is a global sporting goods leader. Just like last year, the company is once again hosting its STXtreme Internship Contest. A Maryland based intern will take part in photo shoots, sales meetings and sporting events. This isn’t your “run of the mill” internship. If you want a once in a lifetime, hands-on experience planning events and marketing for sports teams, this may be for you.
STXtreme Internship
In order to apply for the internship, Maryland area college students should submit a 60 second video to the STX Facebook page. The video should include an explanation as to what makes them “Equipped to Perform” as the 2014 STXtreme Intern. To complete the submission, applicants should e-mail a link to their video entry, along with a resume and a recent writing sample to STXtremeInternship@stx.com. STX Marketing Director Ed Saunders explains the idea of submitting a video through the Facebook platform:
“Last year, we had some really creative video entries and we look forward to seeing how the candidates will step it up to prove they are equipped to perform in the Marketing arena just like our STX Athletes are equipped to perform on the field. We have added a Facebook fan voting component to the intern contest this year that will truly gauge the applicants’ social networking skills.”
Fan voting will also be an important part of the contest. Applicants will need to use their social media skills to gain as many votes for their video as possible. The applicant with the most votes will get bonus points for the contest and have a better chance of earning their spot as a finalist. Applications are now being accepted until October 7.

The qualifications for the internship are as follows:

- Applicants should be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week and be available from start of spring semester through June 6, 2014
