He is barely 21 years old, but Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim centerfielder, Mike Trout, is well on his way to making himself a household name in Major League Baseball.
Batting well over .300, with 27 homeruns and 77 RBIs as of last Friday, Trout is undoubtedly one of the favorites to win Rookie of the Year and perhaps American League Most Valuable Player as well.
But besides showcasing his talent on the field and robbing other major leaguers of homeruns on a consistent basis, the Millville, N.J. native is also bringing value to an up-and-coming company in the sports sponsorship arena.
Late last week, Trout signed his first big sports sponsorship deal of his young career with BODYARMOUR SuperDrink; the coconut-based water — which is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and other nutrients for recovery and hydration — comes in six flavors: acai blueberry pomegranate, raspberry blueberry goji, strawberry banana guava, cherry citrus, orange mango, and tropical citrus.
“National media have called Mike the ‘Supernatural’ because the talent and maturity he shows at his age exceeds all natural expectations. It’s fitting that he join BODYARMOR, which created a ‘SuperDrink’ category which has redefined what athletes expect of beverages based on our superior nutrition and hydration,” said Mike Repole, Chairman of BODYARMOR, in a press release. “We at BODYARMOR see Mike as an exceptional talent who can grow with our brand, as we continue to defy expectations.”
