Victor Cruz’s Agent Speaks About His Life As A Football Agent

The company was co-founded by attorney Malik Shareef and equity trader Rodney Thomas, and has had a tremendous amount of success in a very short amount of time. Among DSI’s notable clients are New York Giants WR Victor Cruz, St. Louis Rams CB Janoris Jenkins, and Arizona Cardinals RB Ryan Williams. The duo also represent former FSU QB E.J. Manuel, who will be selected in the 2013 NFL Draft.

New Orleans Hornets’ Switch To Pelicans Marks Latest Name Game
In a league in which the Lakers reside in Los Angeles and the Jazz are from Utah, the New Orleans Hornets officially announced Thursday night that they would no longer be on the list of teams with nicknames for regions other than their own. Starting next season, the franchise will be known as the Pelicans.
The announcement had been rumored since early December, and the choice of Pelicans as a replacement name was a poorly kept secret. Louisiana is known as the Pelican State, and the brown pelican is the state bird. It appears on Louisiana’s flag and seal and on the state’s commemorative quarter.

Seating In Buckeye Nation Could Become Premium
Premium-game pricing could make its way into Buckeye Nation this fall. The Ohio State University Board of Trustees will meet with the Athletic Council next week to listen to recommendations for a sliding pay scale for premier football games the next four seasons. Under the proposed plan, non-premier tickets would be expected to increase by 13% with the greatest increases coming for a pair of home football games against top opponents.
Two games per season between 2013 and 2017 will be designated as “premier” with prices ranging between $110 and $150, or 2 1/2 times the cost, this upcoming season. The Buckeyes’ games against Wisconsin and Penn State are likely candidates for the premium hike (at Michigan next season).

#SMsports — NHL Is Hardly On The Radar
The NHL is back. After a 113-day lockout and 625 canceled games, professional hockey will open a shortened 48-game season on Saturday.
The question is — to paraphrase the Dallas Cowboys’ social media swipe from a week ago — does anyone care?
The diehard fans always return. But how much damage did the lengthy and acrimonious labor dispute inflict on hockey? If social media is any gauge, the answer is quite a bit.

Super Bowl Coach Jim Harbaugh Was Once on ‘Saved By The Bell’
Who’s got it better than us? Screech! Long before Jim Harbaugh became head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and his rah-rah locker room slogan became an unavoidable catchphrase here in the Bay Area, the coach delivered a motivational pep talk to a different group of young men — characters from the show Saved by the Bell: The New Class.
Harbaugh was quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts when he appeared in the 1996 episode playing himself as an older, cooler cousin of the legendary Screech.

Giants Hunter Pence Talks Video Games With ESPN Playbook
Hunter Pence grins as he watches his cyber-self strut to the batter’s box in “MLB 13: The Show.”
“They beasted me out,” he tells me with a laugh, proud to see his character captured so accurately, from his high socks to his quirky batting stance. “This year, they went all-out on my character. They were definitely kind to me. It’s the best I’ve ever looked in a video game.”
All that’s missing are the Pence sermons in the dugout to pump up his virtual teammates.
“Maybe next year,” says “The Show” community specialist, Ramone Russell, minutes after demoing the game to Pence on AT&T Park’s JumboTron.
