NBA Commissioner Stern Estimates NBA Revenue Up To $5 Billion
NBA Commissioner David Stern estimates revenue will be a record $5 billion in the current season, an increase of about 20 percent from the league’s last full season in 2010-11.
Speaking Tuesday at Beyond Sport United, a gathering of global team, league and industry executives at Yankee Stadium that focuses on social responsibility. Stern said NBA expansion to Europe is probably at least a decade away and that it likely would make sense to add several clubs there at once.
“I think for us the thing that would make the most sense would be a division in Europe at the time that it comes,” he said. “I don’t see that for another decade at least. Not one team.

Aside from the linguistic synergy, there’s little apparent reason why TiVo has chosen Tim Tebow to be its new spokesman.
In a grainy black-and-white ad, the New York Jets star makes the case that TiVo helps him make sense of a fractured digital media universe. “It seems like life gets more complicated every single day, exactly like TV,” says Tebow. “It’s cable, satellite, the web, tablets and phones. The choice is great, but it’s chaotic. That’s why I like TiVo.” Tebow goes on to call TiVo a “magic box.”

David Beckham might have lost a step on the soccer pitch, but not with his endorsements. Luxury watch maker, Breitling, has signed the soccer stud to endorse the Swiss company’s Transocean Chronograph Unitime worldtimer watch and be an ambassador of the Breitling brand.
Although financial terms were not disclosed, one has to believe it’s in the millions as he has a litany of other high profile endorsements like Armani, H&M, Adidas, Samsung and Burger King among others.

Kansas Football HC, Charlie Weis, Paid For Student Tickets For Senior Day
Last week, Charlie Weis continually emphasized his hope to have a packed stadium for Senior Night when the Jayhawks hosted Iowa State on Saturday.
Now, Weis was doing his part to make sure that happens, tweeting last Thursday night that he’d pay for all student tickets at the game.
Kansas is 1-9 on the year, with the lone win coming in the opener against South Dakota State.

NASCAR Driver, Brad Keselowski, Fined $25,000 For Tweeting During Race
It seems NASCAR thinks driver Brad Keselowski’s Twitter addiction has a gone too far. Nine months after he became a social media darling for tweeting from his car during an extended delay at February’s Daytona 500, Keselowski was fined $25,000 by NASCAR for doing the same thing during a race that took place on Sunday.
After Keselowski’s Daytona 500 tweeting spree, drivers had been notified that smartphones would not be allowed in cars, NASCAR spokesman Kelly Tharp told the Associated Press.
